Very Early No Crown Guard Sub, Deep In Red
Probably the very first dial configuration for the James Bond no crown guard submariner with depth rating in Red. The dial is original, untouched and excellent. The dial remains bright and stunning. The luminous has aged beautifully, while these mid 1950's often turn very dark. The dial surface shows some aging throughout, particularly under the center post. The gilt hands are later and changed by Rolex during service in 1976
Excellent original case is dated 1955 in the back and has been expertly polished by Rolex during its service in 1976. The bezel and insert are original to the watch.
Excellent riveted expansion bracelet with "65" ends and USA 1957 clasp.
Original Rolex service papers from 1976.
No doubt the very first red submariner and for sure of the rarest and earliest subs. This is a fantastic watch to wear daily or to add to any serious collection.
